Frequently asked questions
Q: What makes Toronto Kidz Summer Camp different than other camps?
A: At our camp, we truly care about each one of our campers. We invest a lot of training and money into Camper Care which spans from offering a safe camp experience to ensuring your child is well taken care of physically, emotionally and mentally. Our program offers unique experiences such as our weekly field trips to Toronto's main attractions, daily craft sessions and water days.
Q: When will registration open for Summer 2025?
A: Registration is currently open. We recommend registering as soon as possible as spots fill up quickly at some locations for certain weeks. If a week is already in waitlist mode, we recommend still adding your child to it as spots open up regularly and if we see more demand for a certain week, we may be able to open an additional group.
Q: How does payment for the summer camp work?
A: 50% payment will be due at time of sign up. The remaining balance will have to be paid by Feb 28th, 2025. As of March 1st, 2025, new bookings will have to be paid in full at time of registration. A monthly payment plan can be arranged instead if desired.
Q: What is the refund policy for 2025?
A: We are once more offering our 'Peace of mind' cancellation policy. This means you can still cancel any booked week until February 28th, 2025 and receive a full refund of the already paid fees.

As of March 1st up to 30 days prior to the start of camp, a $15 cancellation fee applies to each cancelled week. Between 29-7 days prior to camp, 30% of the fees are non-refundable and 6 days or less up to the start of the camp, 50% of the fees are non-refundable. Once the camp has started (Mon or Tue of the week), fees are fully non-refundable.
Q: What is the camper/counselor ratio?

A: Our counsellor to camper ratio is 1:6 for the KIDZ Camp and 1:7 for the JUNIOR Camp
Q: Is lunch provided?
A: No, campers bring their own lunch plus two snacks (one for the morning and one for the afternoon). Please ensure all food is nut-free.
Q: My child is 4 and turn 5 before the end of the year. Can they join the camp?
A: Yes, as long as they start Senior Kindergarten in September (born in 2020), they are welcome to join!
Q: How do field trips work?

A: We generally have one big field trip per week for which we use chartered school buses to take us to one of Toronto's many attractions. Our second field trip is our 'Park Day' where we visit one of Toronto's many big parks and spend most of the day there and use the splash pad. From most locations we walk to the park for that trip, from some we take a school bus.
Q: Are entry tickets for field trips included?
A: Yes, everything needed for the field trips (transportation, entry tickets, etc.) is included in our regular camp fee.
Q: Is before and after care available?
A: Yes, we offer before and after care from 8 am to 5:30 pm at an extra fee. It can be conveniently booked through your account in our system.
Q: Is Toronto Kidz Summer Camp associated with the churches where the camps take place?
A: No, we are different organizations and we simply rent space at the churches.
Q: Are you running any programs before the summer?

A: We are! We have PA Day camps throughout the year, a March Break Camp and Winter camp over the winter break.
Q: Are taxes charged extra on top?
A: No, there are no taxes. As a camp, we don't have to collect GST/HST. So, we don't collect them in order to keep camp fees as low as possible.
Q: Why are there camps in Toronto that are cheaper than Toronto Kidz?
A: Our pricing is very competitive and on the lower end of camps in Toronto. However, there are a few camps with lower fees than Toronto Kidz. There are three main reasons for that:

1. They don't include field trips to Toronto's main attractions
2. higher staff to camper ratio (some as high as 1:15). Ours is 1:6 or 1:7 for Junior Camp
3. Other camps are mainly volunteer based. At our camp, 97% of the staff are paid the minimum wage or higher which means that we receive thousands of applications and can hand-pick each of our staff. It also means more consistency as almost all our staff work with us throughout the whole summer while volunteers generally can only commit to a few weeks.
